Phillip Ciano - - head of Ciano & Goldwasser’s Complex/Commercial Litigation Practice Group - - successfully represented a trust out of Chicago, Illinois in a complex commercial real estate dispute in Lorain and Cuyahoga County, Ohio Common Pleas Court.  At issue was the validity of the Trust’s encumbrance of certain Lorain and Cuyahoga County developments that were subject to certain mortgages held by First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Lakewood and Fifth Third Bank.  After months of complex parallel litigation, Mr. Ciano was able to obtain a significant monetary settlement on behalf of the Trust, and further preserve the corpus of the Trust for the out-of-state Trustee and Cleveland-area beneficiaries.
